What Sells Where
What Sells in Each State
Every state's own page already says what gets bought there. That answers the question one state at a time, and the question a searcher is actually asking is comparative: they are choosing WHERE, and to choose where you have to hold two states next to each other. Sort by loans to find the deep markets, or filter to your own state and see what actually trades in it.

Where Each Industry Sells
The same file read the other way, for a searcher who has already chosen an industry and now needs the map: not what sells in Texas, but where the thing they want to buy actually changes hands. The table above switches between the two.
How to Read This
These are SBA acquisition LOANS, not listings and not sales. A state where six restaurants were financed is not a state with six restaurants for sale. It is a state where six changed hands with SBA money, which is the part anyone has a record of. Cash deals, seller-financed deals, and conventional loans are all absent, and there is no reason to think they are absent evenly.
Read the ordering rather than the level. A market with three times the loans is a market with more deals in it, and that is a real thing to know when you are choosing where to spend a year looking. Nothing here says whether the deals were good.
FY2020 through FY2025, from the SBA's loan-level FOIA data. Industry-specific pricing and diligence live in the Industry Buy Guides, and state lending volumes in Acquisition Lending by State.
