Definition

Colorado gives a boarding facility a day to warn and a year to disclose an infectious outbreak.

Why It Matters

A Colorado pet animal facility has twenty-four hours from being told of an outbreak by a veterinarian, or by an owner with proof of treatment. In that time it must make every reasonable attempt to notify everyone whose animal was there during the outbreak and its incubation period. For twelve months afterward it must disclose that outbreak to any owner who asks. The window attaches to the facility, so a buyer answers for a kennel cough that happened under the seller.
