Pest Control Term

Termite bond

Definition

A renewable retreatment or repair warranty on a structure, sold with an annual renewal fee.

Why It Matters

Renewals are the best revenue in pest control and the liability is the reason. A repair bond obligates the company to fix damage found later, on houses treated years ago by an owner who has taken the money and left. Ask which bonds are retreat-only and which include repair, how many are in force, whether any claim has been paid in the last three years, and what the graphs from those inspections actually show.
