Pest Control Term

Applicator license

Definition

The state credential a pest-control business and its technicians need to apply regulated chemicals.

Why It Matters

As with the building trades, if the credentialed applicator is the owner then the business needs a licensed replacement to keep operating at all. Ask for the certified-staff roster early and read it against the payroll, because a license held by a technician who is one bad month from leaving is the same risk wearing a different name. Categories matter too: termite and fumigation work often needs its own endorsement that a general license does not cover.
