Why It Matters

The rule covers storm and combination doors, bathtub and shower enclosures and sliding glass patio doors, and it contains the sentence a buyer has to read: fabricators are considered manufacturers of those products. A shop that builds a shower enclosure is therefore a manufacturer with certification and labeling duties and consumer product liability behind them.
