Auto Body Shop Term
ADAS calibration
Definition
Resetting a vehicle's cameras and sensors after a repair, so the driver aids read the road.
Why It Matters
It is the profitable and growing slice of collision work, and whether a shop does it in-house or sends it out separates a modern operation from one handing the margin to a sublet vendor. Bringing it in costs equipment, space, and training, so ask what the volume would support. A shop that has already invested has spent money you do not have to; one that has not has an upgrade waiting on your capital.
