Why It Matters

This is a high-fixed-cost model, so volume against break-even is what separates a healthy center from one quietly bleeding, and the figure is verifiable in the practice-management system rather than taken on trust. Ask for it by day of week and by season. A center carrying its year on winter respiratory volume has six thin months to fund, and the staffing cannot be flexed as far as the volume moves.
