The federal status a shop takes on by producing used oil, setting how it stores and ships it.

Why It Matters

The obligations follow the site and not the owner, so an unlabeled tank, a missing transporter manifest or a leaking container arrives with the keys. Ask for three years of used-oil transporter receipts and walk the storage area yourself. A shop that cannot produce them has either been paying cash to whoever turned up or has not been disposing of it at all, and the second is a cleanup the buyer finds after closing and pays for alone.
