Effective labor rate

The labor revenue a shop actually earns per billed hour after discounts and warranty work, usually below the posted door rate.

It is the real price of the shop's core product: the gap between the posted rate and the effective rate reveals discounting and warranty drag, and a point of effective-rate improvement drops almost entirely to profit.
