Why It Matters

It is site-specific and it does not change hands, because it never belonged to a person. The federal definition of a generator is any person BY SITE, and the agency's own instructions say the new owner keeps the existing number for that location and the buyer's act is a subsequent notification, not a new application. A number is only reissued when the business moves. Two clocks come with the ground instead. Generator category is measured monthly and can move between categories month to month, and anyone who takes ownership of a regulated underground tank must notify the agency within thirty days of acquisition, with a separate form for each place of operation.
