Why It Matters

The mix of cash jobs and insurance jobs is not a business decision in every market. Florida's insurance code says the deductible provisions of a comprehensive policy do not apply to windshield damage, so a Florida windshield is free to the insured and almost every job in the state goes through a carrier. That is why a Florida book reads as claim-heavy, and why its revenue moves with what carriers pay instead of with what customers will bear. Read the state before you read the mix, and price a book in a state without that rule on the assumption a deductible is a real objection at the door.
