Why It Matters

Federal law defines an individual practitioner as someone licensed, registered, or otherwise permitted by the jurisdiction where they practice to dispense a controlled substance in the course of professional practice. The authority is personal to the licensee, so it neither conveys with the equipment nor reaches an associate who has not earned it.
