Vending Machine Term
Calorie disclosure
Definition
The federal calorie posting that switches on at twenty machines, however they are owned.
Why It Matters
A planogram is the layout and the price, and above a fleet size it is not the operator's alone. The federal rule reaches food sold from a machine operated by a person in the business of owning or operating twenty or more of them, and a smaller operator may opt in by registering. The declaration has to be visible at the same time as the food, its name, its price or its selection button, and it may sit on a sign near the machine instead of on it. This is the one rule a buyer switches on by buying: two routes of twelve are each outside it and the merged twenty-four is inside, and it then attaches to every machine and not only the bought ones. Check the glass before assuming the cost, because an article whose nutrition panel can be read through it falls outside.
