Why It Matters

It is the steadiest revenue in the trade and the hardest to staff, because crews need line-clearance qualification and the insurance costs more, so a book of it cannot be replaced by hiring another climber. Ask what share of revenue comes from a utility or a rural co-op, when the contract renews and who else bid it last time, and how many qualified people hold the whole thing up. One retirement can end the line.
