Driving School Term

Behind-the-wheel backlog

Definition

The wait between a student finishing classroom hours and getting an in-car appointment.

Why It Matters

Classroom hours can be taught to thirty students at once and the in-car hours cannot, so the drive queue is where a driving school's capacity actually sits and where students give up and go elsewhere. It is set by cars and by instructors, both of which cost money to add. Ask for the current wait in days, how it moved across the year, and how many students paid and never finished.
