The Firm
Sila describes itself as the leading home services platform for HVAC, plumbing and electrical solutions in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, founded in 1989 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with 40-plus brands and 2,500-plus team members by its own count. Its home page names its owner as Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.
Its newsroom runs one release per deal with the target's trade and founding year in the first sentence: Oxford Plumbing and Heating of Chester County, Pennsylvania in October 2025, and Norfolk Air with Guy Smith Heating and Cooling in Virginia in April 2025. The newsroom index stamps releases with the wrong month, so a date is taken from the release page and never from the index.
A seller here is bidding against a buyer that keeps names rather than absorbing them, in its own words honoring the legacies they have built and the teams that made them strong. Each acquired company keeps its own brand page, and the releases lead with the founding year, so a long local history is what this buyer pays for.
Its owner changed hands in November 2024: Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, which had built the platform, agreed to sell it to the private equity arm of Goldman Sachs Alternatives, by the seller's own release. The buying continued under the new owner, which is what the 2025 rows show. Read again in September 2026: six more purchases since the Virginia pair, five of them in one Ohio platform, and the newest in Western Virginia in July 2026. The home page now names Goldman Sachs' private equity arm as its owner and prints no date for the change.
