Definition

Proof of general liability, workers' compensation, and commercial auto coverage that a commercial client requires before hiring a contractor.

Why It Matters

Most commercial accounts will not sign without a COI, so the insurance a buyer must carry is both a cost and a gate to the recurring commercial work.
