Pharmacy Term
Closed-door pharmacy
Definition
A pharmacy dispensing only to a defined population, such as a facility's residents, never walk-ins.
Why It Matters
Revenue concentrates in a handful of facility contracts and not across a neighborhood, so the diligence question is contract term and assignability, not script count and foot traffic. A book resting on one contract that expires inside a year is a different asset from a retail store at the same revenue, and it prices differently. Confirm the state licenses this class separately, because a retail permit does not always carry across.
