Merchandise sold inside the store, snacks, drinks, tobacco, and prepared food, as opposed to fuel sold at the pump.

Inside sales are where the profit is: fuel draws traffic on thin margins, but the in-store basket carries the store, so a buyer studies inside-sales mix and trend more than gallons pumped.
