The Firm
Pye-Barker Fire & Safety calls itself the largest fully integrated, full-service fire protection, life safety, and security services provider in the United States. It is run from Alpharetta, Georgia and majority-owned by the private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners. Its work is the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, and extinguisher systems, the recurring compliance revenue the fire-protection guide identifies as the value driver.
Its growth is acquisition at industrial scale. By its own count it completed 57 fire alarm, fire sprinkler, suppression, and security acquisitions in 2025 alone. Its own newsroom dates the additions one after another, with Fire Protection Specialists in Washington, ResponseTECH in Maryland, and Hartford Sprinkler in Connecticut among the 2026 run. The targets are established local fire-protection companies carrying a book of recurring inspection accounts, folded into Pye-Barker's national branch network. Its March 2026 recap of the year counts 9,000 team members across 47 states, with Hawaii and Arkansas entered during 2025, following a 2024 that had produced 57 acquisitions of its own.
For a fire-protection searcher the read is direct: in most US markets Pye-Barker is either the other bidder on an established alarm-and-sprinkler company or the eventual exit, and its offer arrives with national purchasing and back-office scale a first-time buyer cannot match. The counter is the one the guide teaches, that a dense book of recurring inspection contracts is exactly what makes a shop valuable to Pye-Barker, so a buyer who can hold and grow that book competes on the same asset.
Read again in September 2026, and the whole newsroom back to the floor is rows now: one hundred and sixteen from October 2022 to the newest, a release naming two or three sister companies standing as one row. The firm's own counts run ahead of its pages every year. It claims twenty-three purchases for 2022, thirty-one for 2023 and fifty-seven for each of 2024 and 2025, while the site names seventeen, twenty-eight, thirty-seven and forty-five, and the mid-year 2026 release names thirteen more with a city and no page. So the rows are the named part of a firm that says it bought about a hundred and seventy companies in four years. The twelve companies the July 2025 roundup named without a page carry the roundup's day. No page before 2025 prints a wire dateline, so every row before that year carries the day its page prints. The item pages refuse a fetch wearing a browser's name and answer a reader that gives its own.
