The Firm
Aramark Refreshments is the workplace refreshments arm of Aramark, describing itself in its own releases as a leading provider of refreshment and amenity services to businesses and institutions. It grows in part by acquiring the independent vending and micro-market operators that anchor a metro.
Its July 15, 2024 release announced two in one day: substantially all of the assets of Tomdra, Inc. of Tucson, a family business running since 1966, and SunDun of Washington, Inc. of Beltsville, Maryland, thirty-one years old with more than a thousand clients in the greater Washington, D.C. area, both folded into the refreshments platform for their routes, technology, and client books.
For a vending-route searcher the read is the ceiling and the floor at once: the trade's regional consolidators buy routes, and above them a national strategic buys the consolidator-scale operators themselves. A seller of a metro-anchor route book has a corporate door, and a buyer bidding on one should price against the strategic's appetite, not only the local rival's.
Read again in September 2026: one purchase since the two July 2024 operators, a Philadelphia and Cleveland corporate dining and micro-market company in October 2024, announced under the Refreshments label and not a vending route.
