Handyman Term

Callback rate

Definition

The share of completed jobs a crew must revisit to fix its own work, unbilled.

Why It Matters

Callbacks are unbilled hours spent re-doing finished work, and they compound: the truck that returns earns nothing while the schedule behind it slips. A generalist trade lives on reputation, so the callback rate is also the review base's leading indicator. Sellers rarely track it formally; reconstruct it from the job software's revisit patterns and read the review history for the complaints that mark it.
