Certified installer roster

Definition

The named people holding the wood flooring association's credential, which many manufacturers recommend.

Why It Matters

The wood flooring association's certification program tests individuals and issues six named certifications to people and not to companies, and its Find a Professional search lists the people who hold them. So the credential walks with the person: an asset purchase whose crew does not come across buys a company with no certified installers. Keeping one is a yearly obligation: the holder's company must stay a member of the association, annual certification dues apply, and ten continuing units are due by June 30. Read the roster against the payroll before pricing any warranty program the shop advertises.
