Fire Protection Term

Qualifier

Definition

The licensed individual (often a NICET-certified technician or state-licensed contractor) whose credential lets the company pull permits, inspect, and sign off on fire protection work.

Why It Matters

The qualification belongs to the person, not the business, so if the seller is the qualifier the buyer needs a replacement in place at close or the company legally cannot do its work.
