Dental Practice Term

Case acceptance

Definition

The share of treatment a dentist recommends that patients actually agree to have done.

Why It Matters

It is the gap between what a practice diagnoses and what it collects, and it is a skill of the person at the chair, not a property of the patient base. A selling dentist with high acceptance takes it with them, which is why production can fall on a practice that lost nothing else. Ask for diagnosed against accepted treatment by provider for a year, and read a strong number attached to the departing owner as the transition risk it is.
