The Firm
SavATree calls itself the leading provider of professional tree, shrub, and lawn care, and it has grown the way its news page reads: a steady run of mergers with named local companies, several announced at a time, deepening existing regions and opening new states. Its April 2024 announcement alone brought in companies in South Carolina, New Jersey, Montana, and Wyoming.
The deal shape matters to a searcher more than the count. Each announcement names a single local operator with its founder and territory, which is exactly the business an individual buyer would otherwise pursue, and the companies keep operating under the platform's brand with their leaders described as joining the bench.
For a tree-care searcher that makes the firm both sides of the market: the rival whose offer shapes what a retiring owner expects, and the buyer most likely to be across the table when the searcher eventually sells. Its releases describe partnerships and growth goals rather than published criteria, so the approach is theirs to define deal by deal.
Read again in September 2026: no merger announced in twenty-nine months, and the owner has a name now. The October 2025 release appointing a new chief executive quotes him on partnering with Apax to accelerate growth and names two Apax partners on the board, while the mergers page still says the company keeps an aggressive merger strategy. A quiet buyer with a sponsor behind it is the shape to expect to buy again. The whole newsroom opened that evening added sixteen merged companies from December 2022 to April 2024, most named three to a release with the dateline printed only in the body, and a new chief executive arrived in October 2025.
