Kept Companies
The Firm
Kept counts its purchases where a reader can see them. Its 2024 release on a commercial painting company calls it the 134th acquisition since the company was founded in 1973, and its acquisitions page now says 146. That is a firm that buys the size of business a searcher owns, repeatedly, across a decade rather than in a burst.
What makes it unusual on this shelf is the SPREAD. Its own copy names nine brands across pressure washing, house washing, commercial painting, kitchen hood cleaning, parking lot sweeping and line striping, fleet and truck washing, solar panel cleaning, coil cleaning and shopping cart services, so a single newsroom is evidence for several trades that had no confirmed buyer at all.
Its acquisitions page publishes a process rather than a form, which is rarer than it sounds: an NDA signed by both parties before any conversation, read by the founders directly, with a reply in a few days. It also says what happens after, in its own words, that acquired businesses continue to operate and are not liquidated, and it prints seller testimonials by name.
What It Buys
Fairfield, New Jersey. A fleet and facility services group running nine brands, which buys small service companies across several trades at once and keeps them operating under their own names.
Selling to them one day, or watching them as the other bidder? Track them in the Contact Book so the relationship has a next-touch date.
Confirmed Deals
3 deals traced to announcements by Kept Companies, 2023 to 2024, newest first. Firms that announce every deal show a fuller run here than firms that report acquisitions as quarterly counts, so read this as the evidence that clears the bar rather than as the firm's whole record.
Nothing newer has cleared the bar in 25 months, against a registry whose newest confirmed deal is August 6, 2026. A gap past 12 months can mean the firm has slowed, or that it has stopped announcing; treat it as a prompt to check its own newsroom before assuming either.
