GEE Group
The Firm
GEE Group is a publicly traded staffing company working from Jacksonville, and it announces its acquisitions on its own investor newsroom with the effective date printed in the body. Because it is listed, the same transactions are reachable through its filings, which is a second primary source most buyers in this trade do not offer.
Staffing coverage on this shelf had rested on firms that invest rather than operate. A strategic that buys a regional staffing company and keeps it running is a different animal across a table: it competes for the deal and it is also a plausible exit, which is the half a shelf of funds leaves out.
It publishes no size band and its releases state that terms were not disclosed, so the range has to be established in conversation. One thing to know before starting one: a listed buyer's own circumstances change in public, and its appetite can move with them.
Read again in September 2026, and the appetite has moved. It sold its light industrial division in June 2025, received unsolicited expressions of interest in January 2026, engaged an adviser that March to review them, and signed a cooperation agreement with Star Equity Fund, which had nominated a director, in August. A staffing owner meeting this firm now is meeting a seller. The whole release list opened that evening holds one purchase, effective January 3, 2025 by its own release, which the row carries now.
What It Buys
Jacksonville, Florida. A listed staffing group that buys regional staffing companies outright and announces each one on its own investor newsroom, terms disclosed or not.
Selling to them one day, or watching them as the other bidder? Track them in the Contact Book so the relationship has a next-touch date.
Confirmed Deals
1 deal traced to announcements by GEE Group, 2025, newest first. Firms that announce every deal show a fuller run here than firms that report acquisitions as quarterly counts, so read this as the evidence that clears the bar rather than as the firm's whole record.
Nothing newer has cleared the bar in 20 months, against a registry whose newest confirmed deal is September 30, 2026. A gap past 12 months can mean the firm has slowed, or that it has stopped announcing; treat it as a prompt to check its own newsroom before assuming either.
