Zenoti

Who They Are

A venture-scale consolidator of salon and spa software, buying a direct competitor for its installed base, and a buyer that may price the deal partly on the seller staying.

Zenoti publishes nothing usable about its own scale: its about page is gone and its company page renders every statistic as a placeholder zero. What it does state is that it was founded in 2010 in Hyderabad by two brothers, with offices across nine countries. The only hard figures sit in the acquisition release, which put the combined business at over fifteen thousand spas, salons and medspas and a valuation then exceeding one and a half billion dollars.

The purchase is a straightforward category consolidation, and the interesting part for a searcher is what happened to the seller: he did not walk away, he took a corporate development role inside the buyer while continuing to look after the customers he brought. That is a real and underdiscussed exit shape, and it is worth knowing that a buyer of this kind may be pricing the deal partly on the operator staying.

Search-Fund Companies They Bought

  • ProPoint Solutions (SuperSalon) · 2021

Raj Mahajan acquired ProPoint Solutions, the Minneapolis company behind the SuperSalon point-of-sale product, with Pacific Lake behind him. Zenoti bought the business in September 2021 to consolidate the category, and Mahajan moved into the buyer as a senior vice president. The buyer's release names the product rather than the company, which is why this row carries both names. [1][2]
