ACR Group
Who They Are
A satellite communications and positioning group that buys specialist brands and kept this one's team and name, so a seller's conversation is about which of the group's markets the product serves.
In the company's own words, ACR Group is a technology company committed to innovation in satellite communications and assured positioning, navigation and timing for aerospace, government and military, and outdoor and marine markets. Its release on Blue Sky Network named thirteen companies in the group, among them ACR Electronics, ARTEX, NAL Research, Ocean Signal and SKYTRAC.
What it said it was buying was reach into its core markets: its chief executive said Blue Sky Network brought answers to the challenges of each of the group's core market segments. The release promised that Blue Sky Network would keep its management team, products, brand, engineering and sales. NAL Technologies' own history then records NAL Research and Blue Sky Network merging in 2024 and taking the NAL Technologies name in 2026, so a seller should read both halves.
Search-Fund Companies They Bought
- Blue Sky Network · 2022
Kambiz Aghili and Gregoire Demory bought Blue Sky Network, a San Diego satellite tracking company, in October 2016 through their search vehicle Kerwood Capital Partners, with Applied Equity, Endurance Search Partners and Search Fund Partners among their backers. One backer titles Aghili its former chief executive and Demory its president. ACR Group bought it in May 2022 and kept its management team and brand. The release quotes Tucker Morrison as chief executive and names neither searcher, so the search origin rests on the backers' pages. [1][2][3]
