### BizBuySell

The largest US business-for-sale marketplace.

- Pricing model: Freemium
- What it costs: Free for buyers: registration, search, saved-search alerts, and inquiries cost nothing. Optional buyer membership "BizBuySell Edge" (buyer badge, listing popularity stats, benchmarks, up to 4 valuation reports/year) advertised "as low as $20/month"; the full rate card is only shown at signup. Seller listings (6-month term): Basic $74.95/mo, Showcase $99.95/mo, Diamond $199.95/mo; 3-month terms cost more per month, 12-month less; listings auto-renew month-to-month after the term; no commission or success fee (per vendor FAQ, July 2026, up from $65.95/$89.95 in Sept 2025). Standalone valuation report $179.95, included free with any listing. Broker multi-listing subscriptions (BrokerWorks) are monthly memberships with early-termination fees; rates not published.
- Best for: Self-funded searchers who want the widest on-market view of $500k–$5M main-street businesses, for building saved-search deal flow, calibrating asking multiples, and meeting active brokers. Not for searchers wanting curated or verified deal flow, or those targeting businesses above roughly $1M SDE, where inventory thins out fast.

### Axial

A private deal network for lower-middle-market M&A.

- Pricing model: Success Fee
- What it costs: Per axial.net's buying-investing page as read in July 2026, which has since dropped its fee copy while the success-fee page refuses automated readers, so confirm the scale in the engagement terms: "$0 access fee," "no upfront costs, subscriptions, or commitments" for buyers. Success fee due only on deals initially sourced on Axial, per-transaction at close on a Lehman scale. It runs 5% of the first $1M of transaction value, 4% of the next $1M, 3% of the next $1M, 2% of the next $1M, and 1% above $4M. The vendor's own example is $200K on a $10M deal, which works out to $50K on a $1M deal and $150K on $5M. Debt deals: 1% of committed capital. Repeat closers earn Success Fee Credits (5-year life) against future fees; deals with documented prior two-way contact are exempt. Free for qualified sell-side advisory firms. Note: old forum posts citing "$1k funding / $100 per deal" reflect an obsolete pricing model.
- Best for: Accredited searchers (5+ years professional experience required) hunting advisor-represented deals at the upper end of the SBA range, roughly $1M+ EBITDA targets, plus funded searchers and independent sponsors. A poor fit for sub-$1M SDE buyers, non-accredited first-timers, or anyone unwilling to owe Axial a $50K–$150K fee at close.

### Baton Market

A marketplace of verified deals, free valuations.

- Pricing model: Freemium
- What it costs: Free for buyers, and free valuations for owners. Sellers who engage its full service pay $1,000 a month on a three-month minimum, credited back at close, plus a 6% success fee on the first $5M and 2% beyond; bringing a letter of intent within sixty days is promoted as lowering that to 3%. The paid seller plan carries an eligibility floor of $100,000 of annual cash flow, and an anonymous listing is free.
- Best for: Buyers who want verified financials and a data room on every listing rather than a wall of unvetted ads

### BizQuest

A long-running business-for-sale marketplace.

- Pricing model: Free
- What it costs: Free for buyers to browse and contact sellers; sellers pay monthly listing fees and its sell page says no commissions (bizquest.com, read again in September 2026).
- Best for: A secondary alert channel that occasionally surfaces listings from brokers who post there first or exclusively, at zero cost to run alongside BizBuySell

### BizScout

Map-based search of on-market listings.

- Pricing model: Custom Pricing
- What it costs: Published on bizscout.com/pricing and re-read for this refresh, when the Pro tier had more than doubled since the previous reading. Basic is free (full listing database, matching, pipeline, basic calculators); Pro $199 a month billed monthly, $159 a month on a six-month term at $954, or $129 a month annually at $1,548; Contrarian Academy and Private Client both by application. The earlier reading of $83 a month is what the same page said seven weeks before, which is why a price on this shelf is read against the date beside it.
- Best for: Buyers already in the Contrarian Thinking orbit who want its aggregated listings and pipeline tooling in one place, and are comfortable evaluating a young platform

### DealStream

The oldest online business-for-sale marketplace.

- Pricing model: Subscription
- What it costs: Published on its own plans page: a free tier that browses all 22,000-plus opportunities, and DealStream Pro at $40 a month for full contact access to every opportunity. The front door serves a bot check to anything that is not a browser, so the plans page is the one to read.
- Best for: Buyers who want one more inventory source beyond the mainstream marketplaces, especially for odd-lot categories the big boards underserve

### FE International

M&A advisory for SaaS and ecommerce exits.

- Pricing model: Success Fee
- What it costs: Seller-paid success fees; fee schedules are not published (feinternational.com, July 2026). Free for buyers to browse and inquire, with vetting in the process.
- Best for: Buyers hunting quality online businesses above marketplace-listing tier, and anyone valuing a SaaS or content business, since its methodology content is a reference point regardless of where you transact

### Quiet Light

An advisor-led brokerage for online businesses.

- Pricing model: Success Fee
- What it costs: No listing fee, and buyers pay no direct fee. The firm does not publish a rate card; broker-review roundups (2025 to 2026) consistently report seller commissions starting near 10% under $1M and sliding to roughly 3% at $7M and above. Treat those figures as directional and confirm in the engagement letter.
- Best for: Buyers who want relationship-driven online-business deal flow with founder-experienced advisors on the sell side, and sellers weighing an advisor-led exit against a marketplace listing

### Rejigg

Connects owners directly with vetted buyers.

- Pricing model: Custom Pricing
- What it costs: Free for sellers, with the site stating no retainers, exclusivity, or commissions. Buyers pay a monthly subscription to access the platform and a success fee when their deal closes, in the FAQ's own words; neither figure is published, so confirm current tiers directly.
- Best for: Searchers who want owner-direct deal flow without broker intermediation, in the roughly $1M to $4M range its published closings cluster in

### Route Consultant

The specialist in FedEx and bread route deals.

- Pricing model: Freemium
- What it costs: Browsing listings is free; training is priced per course on its own school site. The Routes 101 e-courses for FedEx Ground, Amazon DSP, bread and EMS routes are free, and a New Investor E-Course is $299. Operations courses run $995 to $2,500 and the acquisition masterclasses $3,500 to $8,500 by route type, with a FedEx Ground jump-start bundle at $8,500 (training.routeconsultant.com, September 2026). Brokerage economics are deal-side.
- Best for: Buyers whose thesis is route-based logistics specifically, where generalist marketplaces and diligence lists miss the FedEx-contract mechanics

### Sunbelt Business Brokers

The largest business-brokerage network.

- Pricing model: Free
- What it costs: Free for buyers on listed businesses: brokers represent sellers and are paid seller-side commissions. The network described typical terms of 10% with common $15,000 minimums in July 2026 and no longer states either figure anywhere on its own site, so a seller quote has to come from the local office. Buyer-side search engagements, where offered, are paid by the buyer under separate agreement.
- Best for: Building local broker relationships at main-street size, where being a known, financeable buyer on a few Sunbelt brokers' lists surfaces deals before they circulate widely

### Transworld Business Advisors

One of the largest brokerage franchises.

- Pricing model: Free
- What it costs: Free for buyers: commissions are seller-paid, reported around 10% under $1M and sliding lower on larger deals (tworld.com and franchise-disclosure summaries, July 2026).
- Best for: A second broker-network channel alongside Sunbelt, useful for coverage since office strength differs city by city between the two networks
