## At a Glance

The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic coverage, plus a [buy-side](https://searchspheresource.com/glossary/buy-side-versus-sell-side) search worth asking the price of before you use it.

- Kind: One firm, one bench of brokers, one process.
- Footprint: Claims nationwide reach. It separately names Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. It claims the whole country and names only part of it, so the list is where its offices are rather than where it stops.
- Sells: Businesses in any field with gross revenue over $500,000, positive cash flow and three years of tax returns, with more than $250M closed since 2003. The only size figure it publishes is that floor, and the only record is a dollar total rather than a count of businesses.
  - Publishes a size band you can check yourself against.
- Seller Fee: Publishes the structure. It says when a fee is owed and on what basis, but names no number, so the amount takes a call.
- Buyer Fee: Says when a buyer pays. It names the circumstance in which a buyer owes it something and gives no figure, so the amount takes a call.
  - Says it usually takes no fees from buyers, with the exception of buy-side and investor assignments, which is a circumstance rather than a figure.
- Works For: Represents buyers. Names a buy-side service a buyer engages, so somebody on this list can be working for you. None of them publishes what it costs, so ask that first.
- Before It Shows You Anything: Wants proof of funds before it shows you a business. Proof of funds or a personal financial statement, alongside the NDA. Expect to show what you can actually spend before you see a single set of books.
  - A confidentiality agreement and a qualifying step the firm calls a contractual obligation: it must have potential buyers provide proof of financial ability to acquire a business, which it says takes about ten minutes and some financial information.

## What It Costs

'Our competitive fees are solely based on successfully completing transactions. There are no initial consultation fees or retainers.' No percentage. Its questions page prices a third-party valuation from $2,950, often reimbursed, as the only upfront expense, and says the success fee is negotiated before engagement. Its buy-side acquisition search publishes no fee at all, which is the one place a buyer would be the one paying.

## Best For

Buyers in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic, and anyone who wants a broker running an off-market search on their behalf

## Pros and Cons

- Pro: The widest named state list on this shelf, across the corridor where the other rows thin out
- Pro: Offers a buy-side origination service, which few brokerages do at all
- Pro: Publishes scale with a denominator: more than 5,000 [valuations](https://searchspheresource.com/glossary/valuation) in twenty years and more than $250 million closed
- Con: No deal size published anywhere, so a [searcher](https://searchspheresource.com/glossary/searcher) cannot tell whether a $2M business is a client or beneath it
- Con: The cost of the buy-side search is unstated, and that is the service a buyer would pay for
- Con: $250 million closed against twenty years and 5,000 valuations implies a wide gap between valuing and selling, which the site does not reconcile

## What Searchers Say

State list, fee sentence and scale figures read from its own pages. The homepage claims nationwide reach while the locations page names twenty-two states, so the list is a floor rather than a boundary.
