# A2L refrigerants

A term used when buying hvac.

The lower-global-warming refrigerants replacing the old ones, which changes equipment and training.

The transition is a real cost and a real opportunity at once: new equipment lines, retrofit rules, and technician certification. Ask what the truck stock and the training records actually look like, because a shop that has already moved has spent money you do not have to spend, and one that has not is carrying an expense that arrives on your watch. It also decides which jobs the crew can legally take next season.
