# Tire program identification number

A term used when buying tire shop.

California's site-specific waste-tire number, assigned to each location a shop generates scrap tires from.

The number belongs to the location and the duty arrives with the keys. California requires written notice of any change of business operator or owner within ten days of the change, so the clock starts at closing and runs while a buyer is still learning where the light switches are. The manifest file is the other half of it. A generator keeps a copy of every completed manifest form at the place of business and keeps them for three years. That means a buyer can ask for three years and read whether tires left on a registered hauler's truck or with whoever turned up. A shop that cannot produce them has been paying cash to make a pile disappear, and the next pile is the buyer's.
