# Script-file sale

A term used when buying pharmacy.

The deal shape in which the buyer takes the prescription files and inventory and the seller's location closes.

A whole-store purchase buys the location, the staff, the front end and the lease; a script-file sale buys the patients and their refills and moves them to the buyer's own counter, which is how a chain closure and an independent's growth meet. Price it on the file's trend, script counts, transfers in and out and refill persistence, and on how many patients actually follow, since a file moves on trust and the transfer notice is the moment they decide. Inventory is added at cost either way, and the controlled stock takes its own count on transfer day.
