# Advertised address rule

A term used when buying locksmith.

Illinois locksmith ads must show the name, license number, and the city and state on file.

Neither Illinois's locksmith act nor California's requires a quote before a van is dispatched, which matters before buying a shop that competes with call centers. Illinois can discipline gross or willful overcharging, and California holds a licensee to the price stated in the contract for services. Illinois also went at the abuse from the other side, requiring the licensee's name, the license number, and the city and state of a street address business is actually conducted from, which no post office box satisfies. A national dispatcher cannot lawfully advertise as the local shop. Check the seller's listings and vehicle lettering against the license record, because inherited advertising is inherited exposure.
