# Glazing classification

A term used when buying glass and glazing.

Which state credential, if any, the work needs, and whether the state still issues it.

Four states give three different answers and one of them changed in 2024. California and Nevada both license glazing as a named classification and neither [license transfers](https://searchspheresource.com/glossary/license-transfer) on a sale. Virginia licenses it as a specialty above a thousand dollars of contract value. Florida repealed its glass and glazing specialty certification in May 2024 after twenty-one years, so anything written before mid-2024 about licensure there is wrong and a seller holding one holds a credential the state no longer issues.
