## The Firm

The record is the argument here. The five purchases below are a Rochester distributor operating since 1936, a Milwaukee one since 1964, a Georgia business held by one family since 1979, a fourth-generation Mid-Atlantic house roughly a hundred and twenty years old, and a western Canadian distributor founded in 1973. One of the releases numbers the deal as the ninety-sixth under current ownership.

What it does not publish is any invitation. The merger this year moved the whole site to a new domain and the sell-your-business page did not survive the move, so what remains is a news index with dated purchases and nowhere for an owner to start the conversation. There are no criteria, no size band and no statement about what happens to a seller afterwards.
