## The Firm

IML, trading as Island Master Locksmith, describes itself as a provider of comprehensive security solutions and physical security integration, and it buys locksmiths as operating businesses rather than as customer lists.

Its own release on the Massachusetts purchase says what a retiring locksmith actually wants to know. The acquired business continues under its own brand as an IML company, every former employee was hired, and operations out of the original retail offices continue uninterrupted. Real estate is not mentioned, which for a leased storefront is the ordinary shape.

Read again in September 2026: no purchase since Serv-U, and the firm renamed itself Summit Access & Security at the end of August 2026, with its own release saying the ownership, leadership and service teams are unchanged. The old addresses forward to the new domain, and the old release titles were rewritten under the new name, so a citation still resolves while the words on it have moved.

Read again in September 2026 for the years before the row: the newsroom starts in September 2024, so the stretch from 2022 is unreadable here, and the Serv-U release prints April 4 in its body under an April 3 card. The same release records that a family office, Northwoods Partners, bought the firm in April 2023.
