The mid-market software buyer that takes a majority and keeps the operator, and one that tracks companies for years before any process starts.

Not dated: These rows date a purchase to a YEAR. A year padded to January the first invents a precision nobody measured.

## Who They Are

Accel-KKR publishes four figures on its own homepage: twenty-three billion dollars of cumulative capital commitments, twenty-five years investing in software, more than five hundred investments and more than five and a half billion of aggregate portfolio revenue. It describes itself as a mid-market investor in software and technology-enabled services with a stated goal of advancing the journey for its portfolio companies and their management teams.

Its own announcement of the FastSpring purchase contains the sentence a searcher should notice most: that it had known the company for many years. That is how this firm sources, and it means the conversation to prepare for starts long before a banker's book exists. It publishes no revenue or earnings threshold of its own, so the size question has to be asked directly.

## The Exits They Bought

Each row is a company a searcher built, with the year of the exit and the sources that establish both halves: the buyer's own announcement, and the record showing the company was searcher-owned.

### FastSpring (2018)

Chris Lueck raised a search fund called Pylon Capital and used it to buy FastSpring, a Santa Barbara digital-commerce platform, growing it from eight million dollars of recurring revenue to more than thirty. His own account gives the arc without a purchase year. Accel-KKR took a majority in February 2018, framing the purchase around the customer base and the platform rather than the founder story.
