Audax Private Equity is a Boston firm founded in 1999 by former Bain Capital partners Geoffrey Rehnert and Marc Wolpow, and it reports $20.1 billion under management as of July 2026. It is one of the most prolific buy-and-build investors in the middle market, with more than 180 platforms and over 1,400 add-on acquisitions since inception, built around a Buy and Build strategy it treats as a repeatable framework.
