## The Firm

Alterna bought the Bulk Express family of companies out of Miami in late 2022, a group hauling municipal waste, recyclables, aggregates and contaminated soils. Its own investment-news page names the transaction as a completed acquisition rather than an investment, which is the distinction this registry turns on.

The platform then bought again rather than sitting still: Attaway Hauling and Choice Bulk Carriers of Gordon, Georgia joined in May 2023, taking the combined fleet to roughly two hundred trucks. That is the add-on pattern a searcher competes with and eventually sells into.

The lanes matter for reading the trade. Waste and aggregate hauling is contracted, local and priced against a construction cycle, so a buyer at searcher scale is looking at the same customers this platform is consolidating.

Read again in September 2026: the firm's own news page has carried nothing since November 2024, and its portfolio page now calls the trucking platform Bulk Environmental & Industrial, with Bulk Express Transport as one of four operating names. The marketing platform has announced no purchase since Ascend.
